'The Life Before Us' by Emile Ajar is a classic book.
The hero is a bright young boy who is living with an old jewish woman, Madame Rosa. Madame Rosa has a daycare service for children of prostitutes. We follow their lives through momo's eyes and perspective.
I chose to illustrate some of the bizzare, sad and grotesque scenes in this book with bright, happy colors, which make them seem light and humerous, just like Momo's storytelling.
